yoga much: R E C O V E R Y

Jessica: I am turning into a Yogi. I am really passionate about the importance of yoga and I think it is going to be crucial as I train for this marathon. Lets face it, training for a marathon is really rough on the body and honestly a bit dangerous physically if you are not stretching properly, icing, eating the right foods and staying hydrated. It is hard mentally as well.

To help combat these things, obviously yoga is my favorite. I want to have one day a week (Sunday) where I hit the mat for an hour and just let it all go. It feels good to release some of the built up toxins and tensions in my body. My muscles need it to recover. Plus I am not the best at stretching so going to yoga really forces me to get those deep long stretches for an entire hour that I would not do at home.

The spiritual/mental aspect to me is really important too. In my last session a few days ago I literally burst into tears of gratitude. I am so grateful for my body and what it does for me daily. Yoga helps my spirit feel more connected to my body. I am very harsh on myself and my body's appearance everyday. I love being spiritually enlightened and appreciating my body and what it can do for me especially while it takes a beating training for a marathon.
