traci: Hiding My Shame

A wise man once said that on the day one comes back from recovery, he should do it alone.

Okay, well no one ever said that, but I wish they would have.

Today after school, I went running for the first time in over a week with my coworker. He's a math teacher. He's very logical. He's run something like 12 half-marathons, and he has three jobs. He's sort of INSANE. So my foot starts to hurt.

It starts to hurt in what I'm thinking is actually the tendons of peroneus brevis.

It's a deep inner pain that makes the tendon feel like it's been torn; and when I run on it for too long, the pain spreads to the side of my ankle and up to the actual peroneus brevis.

My foot begged me to stop. I told my foot that that would be too embarrassing (in front of the math teacher who has gone out of his way to run with me. I'm wasting his time).

I think I made it worse?

Limping again.

8-ish days of rest wasted.
